On 50th Anniversary of Roe v Wade, CA Legislature Passes Resolutions Urging Congress and President Biden to Enact Federal Law Ensuring Access to Abortion and Contraception

SACRAMENTO – The California Legislature today passed resolutions authored by the leadership of the Legislative Women’s Caucus, honoring the 50th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade and calling on Congress and President Biden to enact a federal law guaranteeing the right to reproductive freedom, including abortion and contraception.

Statement by the Legislative Women’s Caucus in Reaction to Saturday’s Mass Shooting at the Lunar New Year’s Celebration in Monterey Park, CA

Senator Nancy Skinner, Chair, and Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry issued the following statement on behalf of the Legislative Women’s Caucus:

“The horrific mass shooting in Monterey Park which claimed the lives of ten people and injured at least ten more is the fifth mass shooting in our country this year, in this, just, the first month of 2023. 

CA Legislative Women’s Caucus & FAB Council Announce 2023 Bill Package on Reproductive Justice & Abortion Rights

SACRAMENTO – The California Legislative Women’s Caucus and the California Future of Abortion Council today announced their 2023 bill package on reproductive justice and abortion rights. The package includes 17 pieces of legislation that will expand access to reproductive health care and strengthen California’s standing as a safe haven for abortion, contraception, and pregnancy care.
