Women's Caucus Leaders Issue Statement Regarding Passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

SACRAMENTO – Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino), Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus and Assemblymember Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara), Vice Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus issued the following statement following the announcement of Justice Ginsburg’s passing:

“As Women’s Caucus leaders, we are devastated by the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Serving 27 years on the Court, she championed justice and equality, serving as a voice and role model for women across the nation.  Justice Ginsburg broke countless barriers throughout her long and distinguished career and leaves a tremendous legacy of always fighting for women and families.”

 

“We hope that America is given proper time to grieve for Justice Ginsburg and that the process to select her replacement begins in the new year.”
