WOMEN’S CAUCUS EVENT ON WEDNESDAY WITH INAUGURAL GUEST SPEAKER SHERYL SANDBERG, COO OF FACEBOOK

SACRAMENTO – On Wednesday, August 21, the California Legislative Women’s Caucus will be launching a speakers series called Women’s Voices, and is pleased to announce that Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, will be the inaugural guest speaker.

Sandberg, the author of Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, will speak at a luncheon being held from noon to 1:15 at 1201 K Street, 15th floor, Sacramento. Attendance at the event is by invitation only, but credentialed media are invited to cover the talk.

The event will be streamed live on the Women’s Caucus website, womenscaucus.legislature.ca.gov

“This speakers series – which we’re calling ‘Women’s Voices’ – is a wonderful opportunity to highlight women’s contributions, priorities and visions,” said Assemblymember Bonnie Lowenthal (D-Long Beach), chair of the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, a bipartisan group of 32 female lawmakers from the California Assembly and Senate. “Sheryl Sandberg is not only a groundbreaking leader in the technology industry, she has ignited an important and long overdue conversation around the country about women and work. We’re thrilled that she is going to be our first speaker.”
