SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens), Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus and Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino), Vice Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus release the following statement regarding today’s Senate sexual harassment plan announcement:

“We are happy the Senate has increased its access to victim’s services as we’ve long suggested. We are also appreciative that the Assembly is almost ready to announce the same partnership with WEAVE and then the Capitol Community will have one step complete towards the creation of a bicameral and bipartisan process needed to uniformly combat this pervasive issue.”

“The Women’s Caucus will continue to be a bridge between the Senate and the Assembly in order to create one bicameral and bipartisan process of investigation and combined resources within the Capitol Community. Now more than ever we need unity, clarity and a solution to create an environment free of harassment and retaliation that prevents any further victimization.”
