A Fair Chance: Why California Should Invest in Economic Opportunity for Women and Their Families

This March, the Women's Foundation and the California Budget Project produced a new report, A Fair Chance:  Why California Should Invest in Economic Opportunity for Women and Their Families.  This report shows how women have not shared equally in the emerging recovery and recent years' budget cuts conitnue to cloud the economic outlook for women and threaten their economic security.  California should prioritize investments that help women - especially low-income women - advance their careers, provide for their families, and enjoy a secure retirment.

Falling Behind: The Impact of the Great Recession and the Budget Crisis on California's Women and Their Families

On February 1, 2012, the Legislative Women’s Caucus and the California Commission on the Status of Women were pleased to serve as co-sponsors of a Joint Informational Hearing at the State Capitol - Falling Behind: The Impact of the Great Recession and the Budget Crisis on California's Women and Their Families. The findings of a report by the same name, published by the California Budget Project, were presented at the hearing. Findings chronicled the devastating impact that the recession and 5 years of continuous budget cuts have had on California women and their families.
